Rain drenched Connecticut blooms
Connecticut's weather cannot make up its mind. Spring began cold and wet, remained well into May, then turned hot, humid and dry. Everything waiting to bloom rapidly burst into color. Then, almost as quickly, faded.

Spring has been chilly and wet in south-central Connecticut but color is now popping out in many places. Here's my contribution to Garden Bloggers' Bloom Day, hosted by Carol at May Dreams Gardens.
Gardeners are all a twitter as spring approaches … just five days until the calendar tells us winter is over. A slow, careful stroll around my Connecticut gardens – and some very close inspection – says the calendar is not too far off. We may still have some snow in our near future but, more and more, spring is taking hold.
