No GOOPs for now

Yesterday, September 1, would have been Gardening Oops - GOOPs - Day at joene's garden but with power coming from a generator, no cable, no phone, and no Internet September's GOOPs could not happen. I'm writing this post from my son's house ... his power returned last night.

I don't expect our power to return until late Tuesday, Sept. 6. Hoping Internet will return at the same time.

Does it matter whether Irene was a hurricane or tropical storm when she hit southern Connecticut? Not to me. She packed a punch regardless of what she was. See you again when Irene's punch heals.

Joene, I didn't realize you are still without power. I hope you'll have it before Tuesday. I heard on the news that there are almost 1,600 crews working in the state now. You're fortunate to have your son's home to retreat to, even if just for a quick taste of 'normal'. Good luck.

C L & P is posting Sept. 6 for a return of power in many places, but people are getting turned back on now and all weekend, most much sooner than they are posting. My sister in Glastonbury is still out. It's not a tragedy like flooding or loss of property (or life), but what an inconvenience! I thought of you all GOOPs day, and knew you must be out.

Oh goodness...I hope you get everything back to normal very soon. It is so disruptive when things like this happen. My positive thoughts are with you...
