Beauiful! I also felt distressed about the variable spring we had. Things bloomed, but unhappily and late. The amsonias had wan colored blooms, the camassias were too pale, everything looked anemic and brief. And I have an alternate-year blooming pink dogwood, and this was the off year. With low light, gray skies and confused blooms, it all felt odd. But still a thrill to see what does come out each year!

Gorgeous blooms here...reading your older post, learning to live with beneficial snakes has been the HARDEST thing for me to do....holy crap is an understatement!

Beautiful! It has been a very strange spring...makes me wonder what summer will be like. Will it be very hot, humid, and dry or will it be hot one day and cool the next? Your purple allium has such a lovely color....very nice!

I concur, very strange weather this spring. Everything is late. Plus, plants are blooming, then gone quickly. It is supposed to be getting back to normal, but we have storms moving in again. Just not enough sun this year. You do have some pretty blooms this post. Glad the weather let you take the shots. I took mine a few days early to jump between the rains. Happy GBBD!

Joene, I'm realizing how lucky I was with the timing of our weather here. I arrived in Maine on what turned out to be the last day of several weeks of rain and was lucky to have a couple of weeks of dry, sunny weather while I furiously weeded and mulched flower beds. Then, we had torrential thunderstorms that got everything thoroughly watered, followed by two hot days when many of the plants in your photos suddenly popped into bloom. Cool, rainy days followed, which kept everything in its just-starting-to-bloom stage. Then the sun came out and temps warmed just in time for some new blooms and bloom day photos. I hope your weather settles down soon.
