Spring is finally in bloom

Spring has been chilly and wet in south-central Connecticut but color is now popping out in many places. Here's my contribution to Garden Bloggers' Bloom Day, hosted by Carol at May Dreams Gardens.

I always look forward to blueberry blossoms. They are so petite. Their beauty must be appreciated up close.

Bluets are still hanging on.

Lilacs are putting on quite a show for the eyes and the nose.

Azaleas grab the attention of passing eyes.

Chives and coral bells are just beginning to open.

Head over to May Dreams Gardens to see what is blooming elsewhere … May is one of the best months for flowers and Carol is very gracious to host this virtual garden party every month.

Donna and Christine, thank you ... glad you enjoy the photos.

Your blooms look so healthy...the colors so vivid. The lilacs are my favorite of your current display. Happy GBBD Day!

It's so nice to have the rain and the warm temps - changes coming hourly! Love your lilac photos - along Main St where I live the old old plants are dripping with white and purple flowers - it's a good year for them.

Cyndy, I adore the traditional purple lilacs but I have a compact white lilac that is amazingly fragrant and more suitable to smaller spaces. Definitely a worthy compliment to the traditional.

These are lovely photos... I too enjoy the blueberry blossoms and your lilacs are great... we're a ways out from their bloom as the crabapples are only just beginning here in east central Wisconsin... thank you for a lovely post! Larry

Larry, one of the most fun aspects of GBBD is watching seasons at many time points. Glad you enjoyed the photos.
