Tweaked blooms for Bloom Day

Violet blossoms are still my only contribution for February 2010's Garden Bloggers' Bloom Day.  You can see them in my January post.  Rather than take similar photos of them again, I thought I'd share what photoshop tweaking can do.  You get some amazing effects with some flower photos.

Compare the pre-tweaked violet photo on the left with the tweaked one on the right.

The difference in the violet photos is subtle … the following less so.

Any my favorite of this bunch - the sweet peas - glow with enhanced accented edging.

My favorite is the watercolor-style viburnum, although the gerberas are very Warhol-esque. Happy GBBD!

I love your photos. I think the hydrangea is my favorite. Do you think the blue shades are due to the temperature? I always have yellow in the summer time. Thanks for the views.

My favorite is the hydrangea bloom. My daughter (Marsanne) has a Bamboo tablet that uses a version of photoshop. She just got it for her birthday. Stop by our blog and see what she has done.

Cindy, the blue in the hydrangea is due to our acid soil. Glad you like the tweaking.

Thanks, Carol. It's a lot of fun to play with the possibilities photoshop offers for image enhancement.
