My leaves don’t look like his …

November 18, 2009. While most people living in northern climes have had about enough of the falling leaves already, others know how to turn, what I see as future leaf mold, into art. See Christoph Niemann's vision of leaves on his blog at The New York Times. I'm kind of partial to Ernie and Birch and the acid washed 80's jeans. Nature really is art, isn't it? One of the reasons why I love living in New York -- the change in seasons.

- joenesgarden: Laurrie, I hope you share photos of all these buds when they are in full bloom then I can enjoy yours when mine have passed peak.
- Laurrie: Your blooms are lovely and precocious I think! Like Layanee's, my clematis is only in bud, yours are so much further along. And my iris (I have Beverly Sills too) is only budding, nowhere near open yet. How different each garden is, even in the same general area. Happy Spring!
- Layanee: Your clematis are so much further along than mine. Mine are still in bud but I do have high hopes of blooms soon. It is a lusty month of May this year isn't it?
- The Sage Butterfly: There are lovely, lovely attendees to your garden party. The irises are spectacular. I just love this time of year. Happy GBBD!

- Heather: How sweet! And I love mum-mum instead of grandma. My mom goes by Meemaw. :)
- joenesgarden: Debbie, when my boys were teens they complained about garden and yard work. Now, as adults, they seek my advice on how to do these things properly. Sometimes guidance pays off.
- Debbie: Wow, Avery's two already? I feel old! There really is nothing like gardening with a young child. Today I had my teenage sons in the garden with me - complaining about pruning and 'having' to work with me on Mother's Day, while my neighbor was out in her garden with her 2-year old daughter planting...
Love Cilantro? You Can Grow That!:
- joenesgarden: Jeannie, the plants do not like heat. You don't say where you are gardening but if you can start seeds in time for cilantro to mature in cool temperatures you may have success. Good luck.
